When giving a presentation, the concern of forgetting your lines can be daunting. Thanks to PowerPoint notes, those worries are outdated.

Below each slide, there is a text box where you can put your notes and points to develop orally (for example). The latter does not appear on the slides.

On the other hand, you can have your slide and the notes about it in the same page.

Editing the note area

To make the notes area appear, you have 2 possibilities:

  • on the View menu, click Notes Page.
  • click Notes in the status bar.

This brings up the notes area. Hovering over the top of the section changes to a double arrow. It allows you to expand the area.

Note: When the area is not visible, you can look for the double arrow and expand the area directly.

Notes Area Layout

To get a more holistic view of your notes, on the View menu, click Notes Page.

You get the printable view of your notes. You can change the layout, including moving, enlarging, or collapsing the slide visual.

Printing note pages

To print your notes, with the slide visual, go to the File menu, then in Print, click on Full Pages Slides

Then, in Print Layout, click Note Pages.

Using notes in a projected slideshow

When you project your presentation in slideshow mode, youll be taken to presenter mode.

The latter shows you your notes but also the next slide. Reminder that allows you to prepare your sequences.
