Want slides to be displayed in A4 format rather than 16:9 and portrait mode?

To change the size of the slides, on the Design menu, click Slide Size.

The menu offers you to change to Standard (4:3) or Widescreen (16:9). Click Custom Slide Size.

In the configuration window, you can:

  • Choose a Preset Format or Customize It Slides sized for
  • Set size Width and Height
  • Change pagination Number slides from (cf Word – PowerPoint: Change page numbering)
  • Change the orientation of Slides and Notes, Handouts & Outline.

The dropdown list of format choices offers you several predefined and standardized formats. If none of these work for you, choose Custom. You can then set the height and width.

Once youre done with your setup, PowerPoint offers you to scale the content of your slides:

  • Maximise: The content will be adjusted to the new size of the slides
  • Ensure fit: The content will be unchanged but you will have white margins around your content. It will be up to you to make the adjustments to your content.
